Is the highest earning female artist of the year a closet cheap skate? Yes says her ex assistant. Gaga’s former assistant has filed a lawsuit against her ex boss for failure to pay overtime. The assistant also claims that Lady Gaga owes her over $400,000 in overtime pay for attending to the superstar’s personal needs between 2009 and 2010.

The assistant, Jennifer L. O Neill claims that she worked a total of 7186 hours overtime while employment by the super star singer. Her complaint states that she was paid $ 1000 every week and an additional salary of $ 75,000 annual salary. However this amount does not account for the overtime that the assistant gave to the mega star.

According to O Neill , Lady Gaga was given her assistance “not only in her home, but also during her travels to her global concert tours, from city to city throughout the world, at locales including stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses."

The lawsuit claims that O Neill “"was always behind the scenes, and figuratively, if not literally, always at her side”.

Lady Gaga came into the limelight after the worldwide commercial success of her 2008 album The Fame. With hits such as “Just Dance”, Gaga became a super star over night. Her latest album “Born this Way” has topped charts in all international market.

Know for her flamboyance and eccentric fashion sense, Lady Gaga is a regular feature in Forbes magazine and was nominated by Time magazine as one of the most influential people in the world for her contribution in the pop music industry.
